The Mental Health Line is staffed by mental health professionals. This state-wide helpline provides telephone triage assessment and referral services, and gives people access to expert mental health advice and support. The Mental Health Line staff can put you in contact with the local mental health crisis or acute care teams. The Mental Health Line also provides advice about clinical symptoms and local treatment options for health and care service providers, such as general practitioners, police and ambulance officers.

Mental Health Assessment and Acute Care Team
The Access Team are the first point of contact and the intake service for people living in the Nepean Blue Mountains region who are experiencing acute mental health symptoms, for example; depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis. You can call this team if, for example, you: have ideas or hallucinations of suicide/homicide, are highly distressed or have acute mental health problems, are not sure how to access help/care.
The team provides comprehensive mental health assessment, intervention, information about mental health and referral to the most appropriate clinical team or other treatment/support services.

Suicide Call Back Service
The Suicide Call Back Service provides crisis counselling to people at risk of suicide and those bereaved by suicide. People who are not linked in with current professional support can also access up to six sessions of ongoing counselling with the same counsellor at a scheduled time.
