These programs and initiatives create online communities, providing advice, information, supports and services to help people deal with their mental health issues. Online self-help sites provide practical evidence-based tools and support to enhance understanding on mental health difficulties, their treatments and ways to access self-help strategies. Online programs are not meant to replace other treatments, but assist in the understanding of mental health issues and services and may be used as tools to discuss with a health practitioner.
